How ServiceVault protects your data

What stays on your iPhone

You can keep records, reminders, attachments, and manual ServiceVault backups on your iPhone without creating an account.

ServiceVault does not upload the vault to its cloud unless backup and sync is available in an eligible signed-in Pro test build and you turn it on.

iOS may include app data in a device or iCloud backup.

When that optional backup and sync is on, the app backs up the existing vault and syncs later changes while keeping an offline copy on the iPhone. Choosing Continue On-device stops future syncing without deleting either copy.

How cloud access is protected

Cloud records are restricted to the signed-in account or team. Attachments are opened through access-controlled links.

Signed-in account credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. When you use a hosted feature, ServiceVault sends the data needed for that request.

When Vault Assistant is enabled

Vault Assistant summarizes the histories, schedules, readings, costs, and records you have saved. It cannot inspect a machine or diagnose a mechanical problem.

Vault Assistant is a hosted Pro test feature, not an on-device chatbot.

When you ask a question, ServiceVault sends the prompt and a limited snapshot. It leaves out VINs, registration and document numbers, note bodies, filenames, and raw attachments.

The answer points back to the records it used.

ServiceVault tries to remove common identifier patterns from the question and recent chat before sending them. Automated redaction can miss details, so do not enter sensitive identifiers.

Limits on third-party services

Tally hosts the beta form. Cloudflare hosts the website and first-party event collector. PostHog handles optional product analytics and masked replay.

Sentry receives crash reports when configured. OpenAI processes Vault Assistant requests.

Account and cloud-storage services support sign-in, backup, sync, and attachments when Pro is enabled. Product analytics and replay can be turned off in Settings > Privacy.

Security contact

Report suspected security issues to support@getservicevault.com. Include the affected account mode, iPhone and iOS version, steps to reproduce, and whether the issue involves local data, cloud processing, attachments, or account access.

During early access, use test or non-critical data when trying new account, restore, or cloud-assisted features. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, backup passphrases, payment details, or unredacted vault content in the first report.
